Around 130 golfers attended the day at Wildwood - including former Leeds and Arsenal player Chris Whyte and ex Fulham and Spurs pro John Lacy - to raise money for the club and their sponsor’s AJW Aviation’s chosen charity Chestnut Tree House.

Loxwood chairman Barry Hunter said: “We had a wonderful day where we greeted a record number of players for the third year in a row.

“It was a very competitive day and lots of people were very generous so we made a great amount towards the club budget for this year. It was perfect, really.

“Loxwood FC will be presenting a cheque to AJ Walter for £1,000 to donate to their chosen charity.

“As a club now we are really looking forward to the new season on the back of an unbelievable first season in Division 1 in both the league and cup competitions.”
