Bosham held but Sidlesham run riot

The defender bagged two headers - the second ten minutes from time - to rescue a point for Andy Probee’s side in one of their toughest SCFL division-two encounters so far.
Beeding skipper Leo Trower got the hosts off to a flyer after just six minutes, burying a corner from Jamie Rowland - although the Yellows’ advantage was shortlived as Bosham bounced back within two minutes, courtesy of Fewell’s first, also from a set-play.

Hide AdThe Robins enjoyed good spells of possession on a good surface that suited their passing game – with livewires Jake Lafferty and leading scorer Marco Giambelardini both testing keeper Tom Broadfoot - but it was all-square at the break.
Beeding regained the lead on 76 minutes after a sweeping move ended with Nat Rowland steering beyond Magee in the Bosham goal from a Harry Smith cross.
But Probee’s side showed great resilience once again directly after conceding, with Fewell again causing havoc from a corner to head home.
Both sides went for the win in the dying stages, however a draw was about the right result.

Bosham take a break from league action this weekend, instead starting the defence of their Division 2 Cup against Ferring on Saturday (1.30pm).
The reserves went down 2-1 at home to high-flying Wyvern Combination East rivals Hamble Club in the John Stimpson Memorial Shield. Bosham’s goal came from Brandon Sammut.

Hide AdSidlesham supporters were served up a feast of goals and free-flowing football.
Sidlesham handed debuts to Ricardo Faux James and Ben Buckland.
The home side got into their stride early with the away keeper being called into action in the fourth minute, pushing a stinging drive from Tom Bayley to safety.
It wasn’t long before the home side were in front with Faux James, who went on to be MoM, firing home after good work from Bayley and Tom Jefkins.

Hide AdOn 15 minutes they were two up when Faux James knocked in his second after good interplay from the midfield.
Sidlesham could have increased their lead on 25 minutes when Bayley was tripped, but after picking himself up he hit the post with the spot-kick. He made up for it on 43 minutes with a great finish after being put clear by the impressive Faux James.
Sidlesham conceded twice in between some of their their attacking moves and went in at half-time 3-2 up.
Sids increased their lead on 65 minutes when Jefkins’ run was brought to an abrupt end in the area by a defender for a penalty. Up stepped Bayley and this time he made no mistake, sending the keeper wrong way.

Hide AdSidlesham were well on top and Jefkins added his name to his scoresheet with a neat finish after Bayley crossed.
Tom Kelly was next to score, with a stunning strike from 35 yards that gave the keeper no chance.
With John Phillips and the midfield pulling the strings and Buckland and Taylor Hayes supporting each attack it wasn’t long before Faux James got his hat-trick on 80 minutes firing home after a jinking run into the box.
Jefkins netted the eighth with a great strike from 25 yards.
Rottingdean never gave up and battled for every ball.
