Jahanbakhsh powers home his overhead kick

But who shone and who struggled for Graham Potter's men?

Couldn't really do too much about the goal. Didn't have much to do after the break as Brighton were pushing forward
Had his work cut out against Pulisic. Struggled to get forward in the first half but into it more after the break
A fine display against Abraham and some fine blocks as well. One of his best performances of the season
Booked for a foul on Abraham. Solid at the back and always looking to drive Albion forward with a good range of passing
Forced off early on after a shuddering aerial challenge from Reece James. Appeared to be an arm or shoulder injury
Played a deeper role. Chelsea pressed well and in first half Propper struggled to play his passes through the midfield. He and Brighton improved after the break
Not quite the impact of recent matches but a good display. Rarely gives the ball away and always looking to get Brighton on the front foot. Replaced by Jahanbakhsh
Was replaced at halftime by Connolly. Struggled to make an impact in the midfield
Good dribble and shot in first half creeping into bottom corner until deflected wide. A good competitive display in the centre of midfield.
So close to winner with a chance at the end. Great hold up play and battled well against Rudiger.
A stinging effort late in the first half drew a decent save from Arrizabalaga. A hard working display and looked tired at the end
A good display from the Brazilian. A lively threat down the left in the second half. Passed a physical challenge against James
Brighton looked better after the break and Connolly was a key factor in that. Won freekicks and caused defenders problems. Close to a leveller but denied by a good save from Arrizabalaga
Fantastic execution for the overhead kick. Two in two now for Ali
Made one good save from Trossard towards end of first half and then excellent low stops to deny Connolly and Maupay
Clattered into Burn in the first half. A powerful and confident player who likes to get forward. A solid display from the right back.
Headed ball down from corner to set up his captain for opening goal. Booked for second half foul on Connolly
Had it too easy in the first half. Looked less comfortable once Connolly came on
Fired ball in from close range after corner, his third of season. Pushed back after the break as Albion pressed forward
Lucky not to get booked for a late challenge on Alzate. Excellent in first half but faded after break
Highly mobile in midfield. Very difficult to get past. Tackled and pressed all afternoon.
A bit of a disappointing display from the England international. Rarely in the game and replaced by Kovacic on 70 minutes
Caused problems for Montoya. Very lively and always looking to turn and run at defenders. Quick feet. Replaced by Hudson-Odoi on 65 minutes
A controlled performance. Linked the attack well and a threat when running at defenders.
Well shackled by Webster and had very few chances to strike for goal
On for Pulisic and had one good chance that whistled over the bar near the end
On for Mount on 70 minutes. booked for a foul on Maupay
