Fans snap up big match tickets

Tickets for Hastings United’s hotly anticipated FA Cup second round tie away to Harrogate Town are selling well.

Supporters had their first chance to reserve tickets for the Saturday December 1 clash during United’s league game against Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday night and many were quick to do so.

United chairman Dave Walters said: “It’s been good so far. Staff were over-run on Tuesday night. Well over 100 were sold on Tuesday which is very, very good really.”

The match is an all-ticket affair. United received 220 tickets through the post yesterday (Thursday) morning, a figure that only includes 100 adult standing tickets as opposed to the requested 200.

The remainder should be sent in the coming days. United are entitled to 15 per cent of the ground’s 3,800 capacity so more tickets could become available if the demand is there.

Tickets can be purchased from the club shop at the home matches against Canvey Island tomorrow (Saturday), Three Bridges on Tuesday or Pagham on November 27 only.

Any tickets still available after November 27 can be purchased from the club office on Wednesday November 28 through to Friday November 30 from 9am-12noon.

Additionally, tickets will be on sale at the club shop on Wednesday November 28 and Thursday November 29 from 5pm-7.30pm. Season ticket holders have priority but must buy tickets before November 27.

Tickets are priced at adults £12, concessions £7, students £5 and under-16s £3. Tickets may be available at Harrogate on the day if not previously sold out.

The Hastings United Supporters’ Club will be running a coach to Harrogate, leaving The Pilot Field at 7am prompt.

The club will once again be subsidising part of the travel costs to hopefully help as many supporters as possible join the U’s on their historic journey. Prices are £25 return for adults and £10 return for under-18s.

Seats will be reserved on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, with payment required by November 28. Two coaches are now fully booked and the club will book a third if there is sufficient demand, but places need to be reserved without delay. Requests can only be made to [email protected]
