LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club returned to action in County League Division 1 on Tuesday evening with an emphatic success at local rivals East Preston.

It has been a frustrating few weeks for Golds as it was just the second game they had played this year, after five postponements in that time.

However, braces from George Landais and George Gaskin, along with strikes from Kieron Pamment, Jamie Thompson and Scott Packer ensured they cruised to victory at EP.

Littlehampton boss Mark Bennett was delighted with his side’s performance and said: “I felt we played better in the first half than we did in the second, which sounds crazy as we scored six times in the last 45 minutes.

“It was a really pleasing win, especially as we knew it was going to be a tough test after the result that they picked up at Eastbourne Town on Saturday.

“But we went out with the right mentality and we restricted them to very few shots on goal.”
