Midfield ace back at Polegrove

Chris Agutter has returned to Bexhill United.

His transfer was delivered to the Sussex County Football League registrations secretary on New Year’s Day and Agutter will be in the squad for the visit from East Preston on Saturday.

Agutter, pictured, previously played for Bexhill at the back end of the 2008/09 season and he helped Sidley United to promotion from Sussex Division Two the following campaign.

He turned out for Sidley and Little Common last season, and began this term at Sidley before joining Eastbourne Borough where he was performing well at right-back in the reserves.

Agutter signed for Eastbourne United AFC so that Borough could “keep their eye on him”, but didn’t play a game and once the 14-day period between registering for one club and switching to another was up, he joined Bexhill.

He couldn’t face a more difficult start to his second spell at The Polegrove because Bexhill take on an East Preston side which has dropped just seven points in 22 Division Two matches, scoring 90 goals to boot.
