Storrington Vipers take part in Christmas Truce campaign
Before the game started, players from both teams joined together in a line for a team photo, to remember the centenary of the Christmas truce whereby on Christmas Day 1914 in the Western Front, soldiers from both Britain and Germany stopped fighting and walked into ‘no man’s land’ together.
On that day they set up a football pitch on the frosty, war torn grass and using coats and jackets for goal posts, they played a football match.
