Common have conceded nine goals in their last two Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two matches and have dropped to ninth.

Speaking after last weekend’s 5-1 loss at home to Worthing United, Eldridge said: “We can’t give teams three or four goals. Last week we had to score four goals just to get a point (in a 4-4 draw away to Midhurst & Easebourne), today we would’ve had to score five to get a point.

“We can’t do that; it makes it nigh on impossible to get anything out of games of football. We’ve got seven games left, and we’ve got to dig deep and work hard.”

Common will be aiming for their first win since Christmas when they make the long journey to third-bottom Storrington tomorrow (Saturday). Steve Morris is unavailable.
