Golds errors are costly

LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club manager Trevor Waller blamed basic defensive errors after his side went down to a late Three Bridges winner on Saturday.

Waller said: "We just didn't defend properly and didn't do the basic stuff. We can defend well for 85 minutes but if you switch off for a minute, all that hard work is wasted.

"We've got to learn and quickly. I think we've thrown four or five points away now this season. We should have a minimum of eight points and, because we haven't, there's a bit of a gap opening up. We need to get some wins."

Golds were unfortunate not to grab a draw from their encounter with Three Bridges.

Bridges, who had not scored in their previous three away league matches this season, went ahead before Golds fought back to lead 2-1. However, two fortuitous second-half goals handed the points to Bridges.
