He's a world king of schools 100m

FUMI SOBODU has a world title just a year after starting in athletics. The East Worthing wonder sprinter from St Andrew's High School ripped through to the line from fourth place to win the World Schools Under-17 100 metres gold medal in Thessaloniki on Saturday night.

Sizzling Sobodu, just 16 years and three months old, then took the silver medal for England in the 200 metres on Sunday morning. These medals were among only six English golds and three silvers in the final medal table.

He was also part of the team who finished fourth in the Swedish relay, which is run progressively over 100m, 200m, 300m and 400m.

Although no Americans or West Indians were at the Championships, there were Chinese, Russian and South African competitors.
