Horsham Bar Billiards round-up: All change at the top

Keith Potter won the first by a slim margin from Derek Jessup, Alan Downs balanced it out with a more convincing win and Chris Kirkham put the Black Dog ahead again with a close win in the third. Steve King was up next and won the match before Mark Webber got Plough’s second point.

The battle for the top of the table saw a change as the top two sides met up, Roffey Club Y seizing the day to take all available points against Dun Horse B. Dick Cable had to work hard against Rob Hall, Mick Fairs made it 2-0 and Lee Cable got the important third. In the fourth Gareth Lloyd drew Jim Greensted, and Gareth didn’t give Jim a chance as he ended on a 13K score. Bob Hayes closed the night.

Limeburners won at home against Dun Horse A in a hard-fought contest. The opener went to Burners man Steve Holden. Dun Horse player Paul Jobbins got a good start and claimed leg two with a hotly contested third going to Tony Temple. Adam Bateup made his first Horsham outing and brought the match level before Mick Johnson took the final leg for the match

There was another home win for Mill House, this time against Stout House A. The sides were evenly matched so no surprises it went all the way. Stout’s Glyn Owen bagged the first but a good win for John Haigh equalised it, only for John Tidy to take the next. Ideally placed in the draw for The Mill House were Clive Thompson and Tony Franks, both of them hitting 5K for the win.

Stout House BB kept the pressure on the leaders with a great 4-1 home win against Windmill B. Peter Hartley’s 5K and wins from Dick Dewdney, captain Adam Kuzimski and Ricky Dewdney sealed another strong win. Dave Lennon gained a point for Windmill.
