Horsham under 18 girls in national final

Horsham travelled to Trojan Hockey Club recently to play the semi-finals, against the Trojan Under 18 Girls team who were the winners last year.

After being 0-1 down at half time and playing really well, the Horsham coach, Jo Humphreys gave the girls a very positive talk and told them they could still win this match.

They came out firing on all four cylinders with a new mid field line-up which blocked the attacking Trojans. At the front, the superb "Emily" duo of Smith and Jones scored 2 magnificent goals.

The defence in the first half were very strong and had a lot of hard work to do and Trojans only managed to put one goal away '“ the goalie, Sophie Benton, saved three incredible shots on goal.

It was a nail biting semi-final with both teams hungry for the final. The crowd were on the edge of their seats and were rewarded with one of the best games this year '“ it could have gone either way.
