LADIES FOOTBALL

PORTS development in Worthing has received a boost with the launch of a new ladies' football team in the Sussex Ladies' Football League.The squad has been together for five years, playing in the youth leagues, coached by Ian Hill.

Most of the players are now ineligible to play youth football, but they have decided to stay together and enter the senior league.

The team has been strengthened by new signings, including an Estonian international who has eight caps for her country.

To mark the occasion of their first home match, against Rotting-dean, Worthing Borough Council has presented a Most Valuable Player award to Amy Priest who was chosen unanimously by the panel on the day. Worthing won the match 4-0, and Amy Priest scored one of the goals.

The award was presented by Councillor Bryan Turner, who also sponsors the club.
