Pony club enjoys successful year

CRAWLEY & Horsham Hunt South Pony Club, which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, held its annual meeting, quiz and awards night at Clymping Village Hall recently with more than 100 members and parents attending.

A total of 20 trophies, 19 medals, two Gold awards and 100 rosettes were awarded for gaining points in various disciplines at Pony Club shows in the area, culminating in a Championship Points Table at the end of 2008.

The Senior Overall Championship was won by Josh Brown and his pony Pepsi, Reserve Champion went to Rosie Hawkins and her pony Beau.

The Junior Overall Championship was won by Molly Chandler and her pony Natasha, Reserve Champion went to Courtney Geal and her pony Bluebell. Congratulations to all prize winners.

The quiz was organised by Andy and Lou Rainer, along with Charlotte Lee, who composed 60 questions on ponies and horses, music and pop videos and general knowledge. The quiz was won by the Findon Flyers.

District Commissioner Caroline Morley said she was delighted with the great success that the members had achieved during 2008, and was looking forward to an even better 2009.
