Sarah's horses help raise charity cash

SARAH Cockram is using her liftime of experience with horses to regularly raise money for MacMillan Cancer Appeal.

She has four Friesian horses, a breed renowned for their intelligence, willingness to learn and readiness to perform, combined with a pleasant character and gentleness.

Her main two are King Arthur (16) and King Harold (8) and she drives them as a pair, pulling a carriage, to raise money for the cancer charity.

Sarah, who lives at Coldwaltham, near Pulborough, also has two other Friesians, Mr Sweep (9) and Mr Sooty (9), who have been brought on to harness and are exceptionally swift.

She explained: "Horses have always been part of my life since I started out working for racehorse trainer Derek Kent, near Chichester, at the age 14. I've always had horses, but since a close friend died of cancer a number of years ago, I began using my equestrian interest to raise funds for charity."
