Searle hits fine treble at Redhill

EAMONN SEARLE continued his outstanding form since returning to the County League with a hat-trick at Redhill on Saturday but it came at a cost.

Veteran marksman Searle now has 10 goals for the season, although two came in a 3-3 draw at Ringmer while he was unregistered.

Searle did have a price to pay for his treble, though. First-team coach, Jon Chalaye, has introduced a fun fines system since he joined the club in the summer.

Chalaye explained: "We've been doing the fines for the last month. A few were moaning about it when we first started but now they are all getting into it and it's a bit of fun. There's nothing malicious in it.

"Adam Hunt, especially, still moans, because he gets fined every week for wearing flip flops.

"On Saturday, all the players were fined for turning up and Eamonn was then fined for missing an easy chance and he got another fine for showing off by scoring a hat-trick."
