Shae gets Sidley off to winning start

TWO goals from Shae Spreafico guided Sidley United to a 2-1 win away to East Preston on the opening day of the Sussex County League Football season.

The talented teenager opened the scoring just before half time with a deft flick from Chris Copley's headed knock down.

Sidley had chances to increase their lead before Spreafico finally doubled their advantage with a close range finish after Graham Morris' well-struck free kick had been fumbled by the keeper.

East Preston pulled one back through Matt Huckett with more than a quarter of an hour to play but Sidley held on quite comfortably for the points.

Bexhill United lost 4-1 away to Franklands Village in Division Three, with Bertie Symes grabbing a consolation.
