World's eyes to fall on centre

HISTORY will be made later this month when the first World Bowls Tour Event to be staged in the south takes place at the Olympos Centre in Burgess Hill.

With live coverage on BBC TV, the International Open- from November 23 to 30- will feature the world's top 16 bowlers, joined by qualifiers from the UK, Australia, South Africa, the USA, Cabada, Hong Kong, Israel and New Zealand.

England captain Andy Thomson visited the venue last week to launch the second-biggest event of the tour season.
