Worthing edge towards hockey play-offs
BRYAN LOCK'S goal gave Worthing a lead but they had to settle for a draw on one of their losable journeys into Kent
Worthing needed only three points from four games to reach the Kent-Sussex Regional League promotion play-offs but Sutton Valence equalised.
However, fading Folkestone Optimist, who were chasing Worthing for the play-offs spot, were beaten at Tunbridge Wells - so Worthing were able to celebrate their place in the post-season. The play-offs will be at Haslemere on May 17 and 18.
Worthing's final league run-in brings relegation-threatened Herne Bay to St Andrew's this Saturday (1pm) and champions-elect Ashford on March 29, with Worthing due at mid-table Horsham on March 15.
