Lynda and Mark Lynham marked their 50th wedding celebrations at St Barnabas Church where they worship.

Rev Colin Gibbs, who conducted the ceremony, said: “Any couples today who can celebrate 50 years of happy marriage are to be congratulated, and in Mark and Lynda’s case especially, as they have been a real help and inspiration to their family and to many hundreds of people with their joint ministry of prayer and healing.

“Long may they be blessed and enjoy further years of their lives together.”

The ceremony was witnessed by Lynda and Mark’s family, and their fellow church members at St Barnabas.

Lynda and Mark first meet whilst working at Geigy Pharmaceuticals in Manchester and married on March 19, 1966 at Harpurhey Methodist Church.

The pair moved to Tunbridge Wells in 1981 as Mark worked as a swimming pool engineer for St John’s Sports Centre and Lynda worked for 17 years at the Women’s World Day of Prayer head office.

They moved to Bexhill in 2006 and joined the St Barnabas congregation where they are active members in the church’s life.

“The greatest memory we have is of the time in 1981 when we became committed Christians,” Lynda said.

“Since that time we have been involved in Christian Ministry.

“Both of us trained as Readers in the Anglican Church.

“We have been involved in hospital chaplaincy and also ministered for many years around the country with Rev John Huggett and his wife Christine in healing rallies and conferences.”
