Let us support our hospital

I try not to use the newspaper to discuss political issues, but occasionally I feel we should bring to the attention of the residents issues that most of us either ignore or take for granted.

Recently via the press and media we have heard complaints and criticisms from some politicians about the East Sussex NHS Trust management.

While most of us residents have lived through the fastest era of change, with improvements in treatment, availability of the latest equipment, we have also witnessed the use of technology not possible 20 years ago, all delivered by incredibly highly skilled dedicated doctors and nurses.

I believe we should be thankful for that, while supporting those who are given the task of managing the ever increasing demand and falling financial resources.

Many of the critics have numerous ideas, all without responsibility and in some cases with little knowledge, I certainly do not have those skills or the ability to run such a huge complex business.

I am sure the impact on morale is enormous when the CQC reports are published, I am sure the same applies when Ofsted inspect schools.

What a way to manage these highly skilled professionals with fear and criticism, surely they should identify issues and problems and then help to fix them for the benefit of all.

We need these people to deliver our ever increasing expectations, let us support them as much as we can, our health depends on it.
